We deliver the graphene solutionThe RoleBlack Semiconductor is looking for a motivated AMHS Technician (f/m/d) to join our on-site team in Aachen, Germany. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and ensuring the reliable operation of Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) equipment in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

This includes preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting system issues, supporting installations and upgrades, and ensuring minimal production downtime while adhering to strict safety and cleanroom standardsThis role is critical in supporting the reliability, efficiency, and performance of our semiconductor production operationsYour ResponsibilitiesPerform preventive and corrective maintenance on Automated Material Handling System (AMHS) equipment, including Overhead Hoist Transport (OHT) vehicles, Under-Track Storage (UTS) systems, conveyors, and substrate and film frame sorting systemsDiagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues affecting material transport and wafer handling operations to ensure reliable system performance and minimal downtimeMonitor system performance, respond promptly to alarms, and restore equipment functionality in a timely manner to minimize production disruptions and maintain operational efficiencySupport installation, commissioning, qualification, and upgrade activities for AMHS and sorter equipment in collaboration with vendors and engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and optimalperformanceMaintain accurate maintenance records, spare parts inventory, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with fab safety requirements and operational standardsYour QualificationsCompleted “Ausbildung” (vocational school) in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical fieldIdeally first experience in automation maintenance within a manufacturing or semiconductor environment; recent graduates are welcomeAbility to follow detailed procedures and work instructions accurately, with disciplined documentation practices.Ability to work in confined spaces (less than 4 feet clearance) and at heights of up to 4 meters on AMHS highway levels for equipment recovery activitiesUnderstandings of semiconductor cleanroom protocols and EHS standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and GermanTools, Technologies & Systems (as plus)Hands-on experience in maintaining AMHS (OHT) systems in a semiconductor Fab environmentGood knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, RFID systems, and graphical user interface (GUI) dashboards for troubleshooting, reporting, and system monitoringProven experience performing electrical troubleshooting using electrical measurement and diagnostic instruments, as well as carrying out maintenance and repair activities with a wide range of mechanical hand toolsExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and coordinate effective communication with internal experts and external vendorsProactive in identifying improvement opportunities and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and system performanceOur work culturePeople Over Processes.
